Apple Valley, Minnesota
A record-cold Minnesota winter was enough to convince a pair of homeowners that they needed to upgrade the original all-wood, single-pane windows in their nearly 40-year old home. The windows performed so badly that the homeowners had a hard time keeping their house about 60◦ during the winter – even with storm windows on the exterior. In warmer months, they had to prop the windows open because the balancer system was broken.
To replace them, the homeowners turned to Andersen® 100 Series single-hung insert windows. Made of Fibrex® composite material, they're a low-maintenance solution that gave the homeowners new windows that are easier to open (and keep open), provide improved energy efficiency and help reduce the amount of outside noise heard inside the home. Plus, they could keep the original interior and exterior trim intact to preserve the home's character.
